This article presents a case study of the diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation of a medial knee injury sustained by a semi-professional footballer. MCL injuries are the second most common knee ligament injuries in the general population and form a very common class of injuries in professional football. A successful treatment regime is described, and further suggestions are made for expanding this protocol to include more objective measurements of progress, which could lead to more effective healing. This article also includes a printable client exercise rehab leaflet.
This article is accompanied by a certificated quiz which on successful completion results in the generation of a CPD certificate.
